Dental Crowns Melbourne

If you’re in need of a dental crown in Melbourne or other surrounding suburbs, Dental Boutique offers porcelain crowns to resolve any chips, cracks or root canals you may be experiencing.

With the opportunity to pay with a Payment Plan, we have tailored our dental crown costs to suit most budgets. At Dental Boutique, we also provide dental crown treatment for those suffering from Dentophobia, or experiencing any dental anxieties. Through meditative and soothing approaches, we instil a peaceful and trusting environment that allows us to see groundbreaking improvements and of course, incredible results.

Dental Crowns: the Procedure

Our dental crown procedure is quick, and unnoticeable, requiring only two visits. To go through the process of your treatment, you’ll need a consultation. The procedure can begin once your dentist determines if you require a dental crown or dental bridge and the most effective technique to get those results.

1

The First Visit – Cleaning and Placing Your Temporary Crown

When you’re ready, your dentist will numb the area and begin removing a layer of the tooth’s exterior. All forms of decay, damaged tissue, germs, and debris are removed. The tooth is restored to its original size in order to provide optimal support for the new porcelain crown.

The tooth’s mould is sent to the laboratory, where your last porcelain dental crown will be created. The thickness of your dental tooth crown will match the removed layer, and the colour of the replacement will correspond to your natural teeth.

To protect your tooth, a temporary crown is attached during your first visit. This is created of a plastic substance and is held in place using temporary glue. The staff at Dental Boutique will tell you how to best care for it. This will remain placed until your next visit when your permanent crown is complete.

2

The Second Visit – Finalising Your Porcelain Crown

The treatment site is numbed, and the temporary tooth crown is removed. The permanent dental crown is attached and examined.

Your crown should not irritate other teeth or cause discomfort when your upper and lower teeth come together. If required, we will modify its form and size. The crown is finalised once you and the dentist agree on the appearance and feel.

Today’s all-porcelain crowns are just as durable and aesthetically-pleasing as any other kind. Even if you don’t want to spend the money on a dental implant, your new tooth crown should last at least ten years and, in some cases, up to thirty.

Are you a Candidate for Dental Crown Treatment?

1

If you have received or plan on receiving a root canal

A root canal treatment is the removal of infected or damaged material from a tooth’s interior using a tiny hole drilled in the tooth. After this treatment, a dental crown is recommended to restore the tooth and strengthen it so that it can be utilised effectively.

2

The cavity is too large to treat with a filling

The goal of a filling is to repair the damage caused by a cavity. Some cavities can be treated simply with a filling, but if you have a tooth with an exceptionally big cavity, you may need more than that. A dentist may recommend treating the tooth with a crown rather than a filling in such situations.

3

You have aesthetic dental issues

Dental crowns are used to repair and restore teeth that have been damaged or fractured, as well as cover up defects such as severe tooth discolouration, uneven teeth, or abnormally short or oddly shaped teeth.

4

More than half of your tooth is still intact

A partial or full crown may be necessary if only a portion of the tooth is salvageable. If there isn’t enough of your tooth remaining to support a crown, you’ll need to have it removed and consider another treatment, such as a dental implant or bridge.

5

You are committed to maintaining good oral hygiene habits

When you have a dental crown placed, you must commit to practising excellent oral hygiene. A dental crown is not a suitable option for people who seldom brush or avoid flossing. Crowns will not last nearly as long without regular upkeep.
