Dr Stuart Patton

Dental Boutique Dentist

Originally from Canada, Dr Stuart Patton initially completed a Bachelor of Science in zoology at the University of Manitoba, prior to following in his father’s footsteps and studying dentistry in London, England at St. Bartholomew’s and the Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry. Upon completing his training in 2010 and after doing an internship and working in the UK, he was given an opportunity to work in Cairns, Australia practising dentistry and supervising students at the James Cook University dental school.

In 2014, Stuart moved to Singapore to pursue his interest in implantology, oral surgery, and general and cosmetic dentistry, completing many educational courses. In 2015, he completed the Osstem Implant and Prosthetic Training course and an intense live implant surgery course in Bogata, Colombia. In 2017, he returned to Australia to live and work on the Gold Coast and further his dental career. During his time there Stuart continued to pursue his passion for continuing professional development in implants and cosmetic dentistry. In 2018, Stuart completed his Diploma of Implantology at James Cook University under the supervision of the renowned Professor Neil Meredith. The following year, Stuart became a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FCOI). After almost 6 years on the Gold Coast, Stuart decided that the time was right to move on in order to continue growing in the implant and cosmetic dentistry fields.

In 2022, Stuart was offered a job with Dental Boutique and has fully embraced all that the company has to offer. At Dental Boutique Stuart strives to provide the best possible outcomes for his patients in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, educating his patients in developing their ongoing treatment and general oral health.

Dr. Patton is also a provider of orthodontic treatment using Invisalign® technology. He finds that with many patients’ cosmetic cases, using Invisalign® technology can help achieve superior results for his patients, especially when combined with bonding technology such as composite and porcelain veneers as well as implants to replace any missing teeth. He finds this approach maximises the conservation of tooth structure whilst achieving a beautiful natural smile for his patients. Every patient’s journey to achieve their perfect smile is so unique and Stuart really enjoys guiding patients through this process to achieve a truly lifechanging result. Outside of dentistry, Stuart loves travelling, is a keen downhill skier, wakeboarder and scuba diver. He also enjoys spending time with his rascal pup, mini-dachshund Mila.

Get to know Stuart!
The exact moment that I decided I wanted to become a dentist was… My father was a dentist and my mother a hygienist, so I suppose having been familiar with the industry, it seemed like a logical career path. During the summer holidays back in Canada, I used to work as a dental assistant for my father who gave me an in-depth insight into the profession. This really helped when I got to Uni and we started treating patients. I still remember all of the clinical tips he showed me to this day!

What I love most about my job is…
That moment when my patient looks in the mirror after a smile makeover, and you can tell, that this is something that they have been waiting for and looking forward to for a very long time. It can get really emotional for everyone in the room at that moment in time.?

My favourite type of dental treatment is…
Although I like to take a comprehensive approach to dentistry, my favourite types of treatment would have to be cosmetic dentistry and dental implant surgery.? If I weren’t a dentist, I would be…I love to travel, so maybe a travel writer? That or a ski bum in the Rockies!
