What are Porcelain Veneers?
Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made porcelain coverings bonded to the front of natural teeth to refine their visible appearance.
They can be considered as one option for patients seeking to improve the colour, shape, size, or overall harmony of their teeth, or to address concerns such as wear, chips, spacing, discolouration, or mild irregularities.
At Dental Boutique™, veneers are planned as part of a personalised treatment approach. This may involve either our VeneerMe™ planning process, which follows a traditional porcelain veneer approach, or Astrae®, which uses a digitally guided planning process.
Each process guides how veneers are assessed and designed. Porcelain may be selected with consideration for aesthetics, function, and long-term durability, where clinically appropriate.
Our Porcelain Veneer Approach
Dental Boutique™ offers two exclusive veneer planning approaches: Astrae® and VeneerMe™.
Astrae® is an innovative ultra-thin porcelain veneer process that uses digitally guided planning, including heat mapping and 3D imaging, to precisely guide veneer design. Astrae® is selected for cases where minimal adjustment to the natural teeth is required, with a focus on preserving tooth structure and natural-looking results.
VeneerMe™ follows a traditional porcelain veneer approach and uses a structured planning process that includes 3D scanning and a trial smile stage. This allows the proposed veneer design to be reviewed prior to final treatment. VeneerMe™ is used across a wide range of cases and may involve more tooth preparation.
Suitability is assessed by a dentist following individual clinical evaluation. To determine which approach is appropriate, the next step is a complimentary consultation with one of our dentists.

Are porcelain veneers right for me?
Porcelain veneers can be used to help correct many concerns related to the colour, shape and size of your teeth. In order to determine if you are suitable for porcelain veneers we suggest a consultation with our team. During your consultation, we will thoroughly examine your teeth and discuss both your concerns and goals to assess if porcelain veneers are best for you.
Do my teeth need to be shaved down for veneers?
We understand this is a very common concern around porcelain veneers and also a very big misconception. At Dental Boutique™ we have advanced technology and a highly skilled team, where we prioritise minimal preparation where possible. However, depending on your current smile, in some cases, some preparation may be required to allow a stable surface for the veneer to be cemented on.
Is the veneer application procedure painful?
During both your preparation and final application appointment, local anaesthetic will be used to help you feel as comfortable as possible during and after your procedure. At Dental Boutique™, we also offer many other pain management options if you require them.
How long do porcelain veneers last?
With good oral hygiene, regular dental care and appropriate maintenance, porcelain veneers may last on average 10-15 years. Longevity depends on individual factors, such as tooth condition, bite, diet and oral habits. Results will vary from person to person.
How should I care for my porcelain veneers?
Taking care of your veneers will be very similar to taking care of your natural teeth and will require you to continue brushing your teeth twice daily, floss and ensure you are visiting the dentist every 6 months for your checkup and clean.
Can porcelain veneers be replaced?
Generally, porcelain veneers may be replaced. This typically occurs when the Porcelain Veneers have reached their lifespan.
Are there any risks associated with porcelain veneers?
It is important to understand Porcelain Veneers are a commitment. As with any dental procedure, porcelain veneers can carry potential risks and limitations. These may include tooth sensitivity, changes to underlying tooth structure and other risks you can view here.
